CBI presents at International Conference
Wendy Peterman, CBI Conservation Scientist, travelled to the Planet Under Pressure Conference in London last month. She presented her work on the affect of climate change and forest migration on soils in the coastal USA and Canada. Wendy also engaged with participants, presenting a poster about Data Basin, CBI's online data sharing tool. She showed conference attendees how Data Basin users can communicate about global environmental change through spatial data and information.
Over 3000 scientists and policy makers from across the globe attended the conference to engaged on topics such as: climate, ecological degradation, human well-being, planetary thresholds, food security, energy, governance across scales and poverty alleviation. Conference attendees developed a summary of the central issues discussed called the "State of the Planet Declaration", that will be presented in June at the Rio+20 Summit.
