As we shared in our April newsletter, CBI and the Riverside County Habitat Conservation Agency (RCHCA) completed the Stephens’ Kangaroo Rat (SKR) Rangewide Management and Monitoring Plan, intended to unify multiple organizational efforts to protect the species.

To highlight the new SKR Plan, Rachel Singer of the Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) interviewed Dr. Wayne Spencer, Chief Scientist, and Deanne DiPietro, Senior Science Coordinator, for the latest episode of the WRCOG’s “COGCast”, which shares stories and information about the agencies, people, and organizations working to make a difference in Inland Southern California. Wayne and Deanne tell about the collaborative process, scientific research, and use of the newest remote sensing technology that made this ground-breaking conservation plan possible.
