David King, Ph.D.

David is a retired scientist from Oregon State University who worked with the climate change research group at CBI and the USGS and NPS in South Dakota, modeling the effects of climate change on the vegetation of Wind Cave National Park.  He received his PhD in botany (plant ecology emphasis) at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and has pursued studies of tree proportions, biomass allocation and growth based on fieldwork in the East and Midwestern US, Oregon, Central America, Australia and Malaysia.  He has worked with a variety of models of biological systems from individual trees to ecosystems.
